Platform Computing Releases Platform Rocks SE for HP Cluster Platform 3000
Platform Computing Inc. announced that Platform Rocks Standard Edition (SE)
will be available as a cluster management solution for the HP Cluster Platform
3000. According to the company, Platform Rocks SE is a commercially supported
and enhanced implementation of the open source cluster management toolkit, NPACI
Rocks. Platform Rocks SE is a standardized tool to simplify management and make
it easier for users to rapidly deploy, configure, and monitor their cluster
environment. HP Cluster Platform 3000 is based on Intel Xeon and provides a
modular, standards-based platform designed to handle the high-performance computing
needs for clusters between 5 and 1024 nodes.

Simena Unveils Traffic Generator TG1000
Simena announced Traffic Generator TG1000, test equipment for network testing.
According to the company, its Capture+ACY-Replay feature can be used to capture
high-speed real-time data packets without affecting quality. The TG1000 also
provides high-speed controllable traffic generation and can saturate gigabit
Ethernet connections with traffic characterized by Ethernet, IP addresses, and
TCP/UDP port numbers. Source and destination addresses, as well as payload,
can be modified for each packet to create more realistic load effects. TG1000
is a portable appliance with 10/100/1000BaseTX interfaces. It is managed by
a Web GUI and provides detailed statistics.
